For 2011 The Infiniti M37 Offers Sleek Looks And A Powerful Engine

One of Infiniti’s more popular cars, the M37 received a slight update for 2011 with a more daring profile and wider stance. The hood is more shaped and the car’s lines are smooth and sleek. Just one single trim is available but there are various optional packages available; Deluxe Touring, Technology, Sport Touring, Deluxe Touring and Premium.

The M37 stands in the competitive luxury car segment and will compete head to head with the popular Mercedes Benz E-Class, BMW 5-series, the Lexus GS models and Jaguar XF. It’s powered by a powerful 3.7 Liter V6 engine with three hundred and thirty horsepower. Four different driving modes can be utilized: Eco, Sport, Snow and the normal mode. Fuel economy is acceptable at 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the freeway. The M37 goes from 0-60 in 5.9 seconds.

Standard features include 5-spoke 18″ alloy wheels, xenon headlights and a sliding moonroof. Dual exhaust with chrome tips are in place plus the road ahead will always be visible due to UV reducing glass. The transmission system has seven speeds and can be utilized as a manual transmission. An eco-conscious feature is available which promotes more efficient driving and provides instant feedback in regards to the driver’s driving habits.

High grade materials were used in the cabin; it is appointed with rich leather throughout. A center console is situated between the front seats with instrument controls. The front seats are heatable plus there is Push Button Ignition available. A Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control is in place, plus compatibility with Bluetooth for hands free calling. A USB connection port allows you to connect your Ipod music device. The premium package includes a Bose audio system with ten speakers, a DVD player and a 9.3 music storage drive for the ultimate entertainment system. An optional navigation system can be added which includes voice recognition and real-time traffic updates and info.

Safety was foremost in the minds of engineers when they implemented numerous safety systems. The M37 features the Blind Spot Intervention system which lets you know when other vehicles are in your blind spot and actually assists you back towards your lane if you start to cross over into the adjacent lane. Intelligent Brake Assist helps to adjust and apply brake pressure as necessary and the Forward Collision Warning system gives an audible warning if it senses an impending accident or collision ahead. Extra safety features include front and side curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control and Anti Lock Brakes.

The starting price for the 2011 Infiniti M37 is approximately $46k but will vary depending on the optional packages selected. Infiniti’s G37 Is A Top Contender In The Entry Level Luxury Segment

One of Infiniti’s most popular vehicles is the 2010 G37. This car is fabulous looking and stands out on the road due to its distinct front and smooth, sleek lines. It functions great as an everyday car but also offers the superior performance and sporty handling to rival entry-level luxury cars from BMW or Mercedes but at a price that is much friendlier to your wallet. The 2010 G37 has been revamped and dressed up with a new front lights and a larger and more distinct grille. The G37 is available as a coupe, sedan or retractable hard top convertible.

Four different models are available: base, Journey, G37X and Sport 6MT. All of the models except the Sport 6MT version utilize automatic transmission. The sedan version is ideal if you drive lots of people around as some car reviewers have stated that the back seats in the coupe and convertible may be a tad cramped at times. The coupe is ideal if you are looking for sportier handling whereas the convertible is just pure fun to drive.

The front seats are crafted with leather, adjustable eight different ways and temperature controlled. Many options are available for the G37 including a touch screen navigation system with turn by turn directions and traffic updates, a high tech Bose audio system that is USB and IPod compatible. There is even a 9.3 gig music box available which allows you to store all of your favorite songs. The USB port is in the arm rest and allows you to plug in your Ipod for easy listening. A rear view monitor is available as an option which displays how close objects are behind you. The gauges actually move in sync with the steering wheel so they are always easily visible. Backlit blue lighting sets off the instrument panel and gives the cabin a cool high-tech look. In terms of cargo space the sedan has a 13.5 cubic feet trunk space whereas the coupe has 7.4 cubic feet.

The latest safety features are in place including airbags with seatbelt and passenger sensors, traction control, anti lock brakes, and electronic stability control. The convertible version also has pop-up roll bars which activate during a roll over. Vehicle Dynamic Control is in place to adjust oversteer and understeer by selectively applying brakes and the Brake Assist System helps to apply additional brake pressure during immediate stops.

With all of these great features it isn’t hard to see why the G37 is one of Infiniti’s most popular cars. At starting price for a G37 sedan is around $34k, this car is a great deal for buyers who have a thirst for a great looking high performance luxury car at a competitive price. The Infiniti M56 Outperforms Everyone In Its Class

It’s extremely competitive in the luxury car market. The Infiniti M56 is up against the best out of the best from BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Lexus and Acura just to name a few. The previous generation M56 was formally known as the M45 and was not very popular with most car shoppers. Infiniti did not do enough to set the M45 apart from the rest of the pack. However, all of this has changed with the all new M56.

In the past, the M56 was normally overshadowed by its little brother the G35 and G37. For 2010 the Infiniti M56 has a base price of $58k. The M56 has been revamped and now it has the fit and finish the Germans have been known for, and Infiniti has also manned up to produce a V8 engine worthy of its German rivals. With 420 horsepower on tap the M56 reaches the 60mph mark in a scant 4.7 seconds. For comparison last year’s model took almost a full second longer to reach a 60 mph. The Infiniti M56 out accelerates all of it’s competitors.

There have been complaints in the past about the harsh ride with the previous model. However, with the M56 Infiniti created a luxury ride even though the car was meant to handle. 20-inch rims, firm springs, and double-piston shocks. If this sounds like the vehicle would ride rough, it does not. You even have the option of 4 different driving modes. The Eco mode is there to conserve fuel, The Snow mode is self explanatory, the standard mode is regular all around drive setting, and finally The Sport mode improves all power, throttle and shift strategies for an incredible driving experience.

If you opt for the $3k technology package you get some sweet features; like a lane departure prevention system, blind spot alert, and radar adaptive cruise control which when set keeps the same difference between you and the car in front of you. There is also a $3800 touring package which adds luxury items such as a Bose stereo system, wood trim, and a cabin air system which in essence is just a fan that blows air at random speeds like the tropical setting on your fan at home. The last optional package is the Big Daddy Sport Package. At $3600 this pricey package comes with four wheel steering, a sporty suspension, huge 20 inch rims with summer tires, and a souped up steering wheel.

In the performance department The Infiniti M56 truly shines. The 400 hp V-8 can rocket the M56 zero to 60 4.7 seconds as aforementioned, and the quarter mile is reached in 13.4 seconds, which is just a tiny bit off pace from the awesome Ford Mustang GT and the Camaro SS muscle car. So much muscle and power wrapped in a luxury car. The M56 can also post a 0.86g on skid pad.

When compared to its rivals the Lexus GS460, Jaguar XF, and the Mercedes E550, The M56 truly wins them all. Only downside is the M56 is also the most expensive of the group. It can out accelerate, out brake and out corner them all. Plus, the Infiniti M56 has the best fuel economy in the class. Now more than ever has the M56 become a real contender.

Ever since Infiniti was launched with mystifying advertising images of rocks and trees 21 years ago, Nissan Motor Co.’s luxury brand has been hard to pin down.

Vehicles such as its G37, the 2011 M sedan and the QX56 SUV turn heads and win praise in buff books. But while luxury competitors such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Lexus have soared in consumer popularity over the past decade, Infiniti has struggled to keep up.

Infiniti’s sales peaked at 131,401 in 2005. Last year they totaled 81,089.

The problem? Fuzzy brand awareness caused by more than a decade of sharing vehicles and marketing resources with its larger sibling brand, Nissan.

Ben Poore is on fire to fix this. As vice president of Nissan North America’s Infiniti Business Unit for the past year and a half, Poore’s mission has been to sharpen the brand’s image. His most visible initiative is a new campaign, “The Way of Infiniti,” which is scheduled to run for five years.

“Our brand has always been about performance luxury,” Poore says. “We’ve always been there, but we now have a very solid and interesting way of defining ourselves.”

Dealers add that Nissan needs to give Infiniti a broader lineup to match luxury rivals. Infiniti is expected to make several new product announcements next month — likely including a performance subbrand — to bolster its luxury credibility.
