Audi Q3 Compact Luxury SUV Faces Hulk Competition in the UK

Audi A3

Audi has exploded the compact luxury crossover market with the Q3 SUV even in the high class competition across the markets

At the time, Audi Q3 and BMW X1 were the only crossovers in the market, but then the world has seen the bombardment of crossovers in the market from almost all the leading automakers e.g. Mercedes Infiniti, Volvo, Volkswagen, Jaguar, Cadillac, and even several Japanese automakers Lexus and Subaru as well. With the introduction of crossovers from almost all automakers, the market has been diluted with the hundreds of models and trims in the crossover segment and the situation turned into exclusively bad for the automaker.

How Audi Would Beat the Competition?

Audi has planned to beat the competition with its redesigned models in the UK and the USA markets. They have started implementing the plans by redesigning the Q3 with an emphasis on the practicality and growth of updated styling. They have offered the utmost customization and personalization on their crossover trims. It just didn’t stop here, taking advantage of the innovative technologies, Audi has introduced the tour de force technological advancement in the cabin and pushed their brand identity a lot. Due to its publicity and practicality, Audi Q3 reconditioned engines are still famous and available in markets.

Q3 Interior

New Compact and Customizable Q3

The first generation of the Audi Q3 was a bit boring model and it has given a greater chance to other brands to come into the competition and give a tough time to the automaker. Now it has been introduced with a great personality and with more angular shapes, and themes on its exterior and interior. The massive change, Audi has introduced is the new colour scheme on the Q3 models, sharper hexagonal grille which grabs attention a lot.

In the North American markets, Audi Q3 is the smallest crossover and still makes an achievable difference to the usable space. The passenger space has grown up a lot and practicality at its peak. It has sufficient headroom and legroom for a human body frame of 5’11”.

Up-to-Date Technology

The biggest generational change is in the updated technology and it is being offered on the new Audi Q3 where a world class digital gauge cluster has been displayed on the 12.3 inch display and a virtual cockpit when an upgrade option is offered. It offers satellite navigation, audio, communication and vehicle information which can be showed in two altered layouts and controlled from the steering wheel. All this system was one of the best in class setup and covered with a leather cover on the steering wheel. All the controls have been placed on the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock on the steering so there is no need to take your hands off the steering wheel.

Throughout the cabin, high class materials have been used and exclusively excellent switchgear has been used as well. A funky little sculptural door handles and one thing that is according to the reviewers, seems odd is volume knob and driver has the same controls on the steering wheel. Same has been offered on the back seats for passengers and the main screen has been angled towards the driver which shows that who is actually person in charge of selecting the options and even the radio stations.

Good Foundation with Upgraded Engine Trims

When the updated Q3 was introduced in Europe, it was introduced with a massive range of engines and in the North American markets, Audi skipped the new engines and powertrains. This time, Audi has decided to introduce the same in the US markets as well.

The latest generation of 2.0-litre TFSi engine would be introduced in all US markets where the 2.0-litre tfsi 184hp model and a 228hp model would be available. The 184hp is paired with 236lb-ft of torque, it should be sufficient power for a crossover. Next version would be a high pro 2.0t engine capable of generating 258lb-ft of torque and takes only 6.3 seconds to reach the 62 miles per hour sprint. This version speeds effortlessly as it has plenty of torque and through the heart of the power band where the vehicle spends it’s a lot of time in the good power band. The only transmission on offer is the eight speed Quattro all-wheel drive and it will no longer be standard at all. Now the euro spec seven speed transmission would be offered as standard transmission.

Audi is using the VW Group’s MQB Platform and it is a quiet leap forward thing for a new Q3 model. Unlike the European markets, Americans do not have any option to select adaptive dampers and can adjust to the road conditions.
