I’m looking at buying a 2002 VW Jetta TDI
Question:
I’m looking at buying a 2002 VW Jetta TDI. It has 101k on miles. It has had the turbo replaced and the glow plug replaced, and the fuel injection pump. Are these normal,or is this a sign of bigger things to come?
Answer:
The glow plugs are normal to failure. The injection pump is a known part failure on high mileage vehicles. The Turbo generally fails due to lack of proper maintenance. This is not a common failure part. I think I would steer clear of this one.
