After the brake job I had burning brakes (bad) smell and rotar burning.

I have a 2001 Explorer Sport (not Trac). I had a brake job done about 5 months ago. After the brake job I had burning brakes (bad) smell and rotar burning. After several visits they said they put Sport Trac brake pads on rather than Explorer sport. After the job they seemed fine but my anti-lock keeps kicking on even with minior stop and go driving. Now the first time out on a warm day (60+) I find they are burning again! Any advice before I go back to the shop and fight the good fight??? This is getting very old and scary!

Answer:

you either have a caliper sticking, or they did not adjust the rear drums right.

if i did a brake job and drove it down the street and smelled anything, it would be back on my rack with the wheels off.

theres no excuse for putting your life in danger by not having the brakes right.
