My ford F150 Conversion Van has a jerking, shuddering sensation

My ford F150 Conversion Van has a jerking, shuddering sensation felt on acceleration. It does not seem to be coming from the engine, but seems more related to the forward movement. When I feel the shuddering/jerk I can accelerate more and this seem to stop the jerking.
