Jeep Grand Cherokee “Orvis” that is having A/C problems
Question:
I have a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee “Orvis” that is having A/C problems. The air coming from the vents is not cold. I checked the low side pressure, 35psi, and the high side of the compressor is around 215 psi. Another thing I have noticed is that the clutch on the compressor seems not to “cycle “on & off” like my other car. I don’t know what is causing this condition… Already Tried: New thermostat, checked freon pressure, checked coolant level, cleared out debris from condenser
Answer:
Your pressures seem good, but this doesn’t mean that you have enough refrigerant in the system. You need to first pump down the system and see just how much refrigerant is in the system, if it does not have the correct amount then refill with the correct amount and add dye so you can see where the leak is coming from. This is where you start with a/c, I really believe that your system is low. If you don’t have the proper equipment, then take it to a dealer or an a/c shop and let them do what I just laid out for you, if then you want to repair it, then at least you know where to start.
