I believe the fuel is E85

Question:

I have a 1996 E150 Ford Van with a 5.8 engine I filled up my fuel tank with what I thought was 32 gallons of regular unleaded gasoline note ( this van has a 36 gallon fuel tank) after I drove 45 miles the engine stalled and would not restart.
I checked the fuel pressure and I discovered the fuel pump was not working so I drained out 32 gallons of fuel out of the fuel tank then I removed the fuel tank and the fuel pump I noticed the fuel I drained had a greenish tint I believe the fuel is E85.
I am replacing the fuel pump and fuel filter my question is will E85 effect anything else in the fuel system.

Answer:

The greenish tint would indicate diesel fuel, not E85. The Diesel Fuel will not hurt the rest of the system. E85 should not have any negative impact on the rest of the fuel system. The rest of the fuel system should be safe.
